BucketMigrator

Supported providers

Any S3-compatible source to any S3-compatible destination — hyperscalers, independent clouds, and self-hosted object stores. If your storage speaks the S3 API (or Azure Blob), we can move it.

Hyperscalers

  • AWS S3
  • Azure Blob Storage
  • Google Cloud Storage

Independent clouds

  • Backblaze B2
  • Wasabi
  • Cloudflare R2
  • IONOS S3 Object Storage
  • OtterStorage
  • DigitalOcean Spaces

Self-hosted / on-prem

  • MinIO
  • Ceph / RGW
  • Dell ECS
  • NetApp StorageGRID

Not on the list? If it exposes an S3-compatible endpoint, it almost certainly works — ask us and we'll confirm against our connector matrix.

Popular migration routes

The moves we run most often, and why teams make them.

AWS S3 → Backblaze B2

The classic egress escape. B2 storage runs roughly a fifth of S3's price and egress is free through the Bandwidth Alliance for many workloads. Teams move backups and media archives first, then everything that doesn't need AWS-adjacent compute.

AWS S3 → Cloudflare R2

R2's zero egress fees change the economics of serving data publicly. Anything downloaded frequently — assets, datasets, build artifacts — stops bleeding money the day it lands in R2.

AWS S3 → Wasabi

Flat-rate hot storage with no egress or API charges. A common destination for backup and archive tiers where the S3 bill was mostly requests and retrieval, not storage.

Azure Blob → Backblaze B2

Azure's egress pricing makes large Blob estates expensive to leave — which is exactly why teams leave. We read Blob natively, so no S3 gateway is needed on the source side.

Google Cloud Storage → Cloudflare R2

GCS egress to the public internet adds up fast for content-heavy workloads. R2 in front of Cloudflare's network is the natural landing zone.

Wasabi → Cloudflare R2

Independent-to-independent moves are common too: teams consolidate providers or chase the zero-egress model for public data. Small per-TB deltas still pay off at scale.

AWS S3 → MinIO (on-prem)

Repatriation. When storage spend crosses the line where owning hardware wins, MinIO gives you the S3 API on your own metal. We handle the bulk move and the verified cutover.

AWS S3 → Ceph / RGW (on-prem)

The other repatriation path, common in organizations already running Ceph for block or file. RGW's S3 compatibility is solid, and we verify every object into it.

Any S3 → IONOS (EU)

EU data residency with EU ownership. For teams whose compliance posture requires a European provider under European jurisdiction, IONOS object storage is a frequent destination — and we're EU-based too.
